Do likes still matter on Instagram when they’re often hidden? Or are comments and saves the real metric?
I’ve been posting more regularly on my IG lately, but I’m confused about what actually counts these days. Since likes are hidden for a lot of people, I don’t know if brands or new followers even notice them. Sometimes I get way more saves and shares than likes, but it feels like the “like count” is still the first thing people talk about. Has anyone else noticed the same thing, or am I just overthinking it?

I think you’re spot on — likes used to be everything, but now they’re more like a surface-level signal. When I worked with a small fitness brand, they cared a lot more about comments and saves because it showed people were actually paying attention. That said, likes can still help with reach, and for quick credibility they’re handy. Some folks use tools like a buy instagram like panel with instant delivery to give posts a boost, but it only works if you also get natural engagement to back it up.
